Abstract
1．卵重與孵化率的關係，三年資料中來航及名古屋均爲負相關，而1950-1951年的資料表示不顯著而已，洛島紅1948-1949年資料乃表示顯著的負相關，而其餘兩年則爲正相關，但不明顯。蘆花除1948-1949年爲不明顯的正相關外，共餘兩年亦均爲負相關，關於蘆花洛島紅在三年的資料中分別有正相關，而爲不明顯。此或因該兩品種參加試驗數目較少的緣故。然而資料之大數分析的結果，均爲負相關且有顯著的表示。此即各品種之卵愈重，其孵化率有愈低的趨勢。
Hatchability was studied in relation to the total egg weight for four breeds such as S. W. Leghorn, Rode Island Red, Barred plymouth Rock and Nagoya (Japanese breed), from October 1948 to June 1951. From the data the following results were obtained. 1. Either Leghorn or Nagoya showed a negative correlation for each of three years significant in the 1st and the 2nd year but insignificant in the 3rd year. The negative correlation indicated that the larger the egg, size the smaller the hatchability.
