Abstract

The National Plant Genetic Resources Centre, built at the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) in Taichung, was inaugurated in 1993. The International Rice Research Institute gene bank design was adopted. Under the old system about 67 000 accessions of 27 crop types were managed by 20 organizations.
