Abstract
Postharvest handlers and shippers of tropical ornamentals are limited by their products chilling susceptibility, short vase life, long distances to major markers, and the need for insect distinfestation. Frequently tropical ornamentals shipped to temperate areas during the winter are exposed to freezing temperatures during transit and are severely damaged. Packages can provide some protection.
