Abstract
1. Of the ten kindsof insecticides tested in laboratory or field, the most effective ones are: (1) Summer oil emulsion plus rotenoid emulsion, (2) Diesel oil emulsion, (3) Peanut oil emulsion, (4) Summer oil emulsion. DDT emulsion and Solvax are inferior to all.
2. The insect being covered with waxy substance and always fixing so low among the leaves in the centers of the plants, makes the control application so difficult that complete control is usually difficult.
3. Oil emulsion may be used in small plots. It is too expensive to use it in the field. Moreover, pineapples are planted in Taiwan on highlands and steep slopes, application of insecticide, such as oil emulsion, is somewhat impossible.
