Abstract
In recent years, the striped rice borer, C. suppressalis Walk. has been a serious pest of rice crop, and its infestation in the first rice crop is usually more injurious than in the second one. Consequently, heavy damage caused by both 1 st and 2nd generation to this crop alone was on boot and heading stage under prevailing climatic conditions. In 1963, loss of rice in yield was estimated about 30 to 50 per cent. Since the borers were obstinate to survive during the low temperature and dry season when the weather was of around 16.8℃ & 41.2 mm of precipitation from December through March, and of 25.8℃ & 19.2 mm from April to May.
