Abstract
據本省過去之三要素對水稱之試驗結果，可知鉀肥之肥效一般甚低，我們推想其原因有二：(1)天然供給鉀之能力已够水稻之需要。(2)吾人對於鉀肥之施用法不妥當而不能發揮其肥效。本試驗之動機乃假設其原因為第二種原因，欲藉施肥方法以提高鉀肥之肥效，施肥方法固多，何以單就追肥加以試驗？此因據前人試驗文獻水稻需鉀期間甚長，幾乎全生育期間都需要，尤以出穗前30日至出穗期間所吸收之鉀對產量提高效果最大。過去肥料試驗鉀肥均用於基肥，因土壤對鉀素之保持力較差，故對後期之鉀素之供給，較不易維持。上述兩種理由乃為我們舉行此項試驗之主要原因。
The effect of potash fertilizer used as top-dressing seemed to increase the paddy yield in some experimental results, but the statistical analysis failed to confirm this fact. Refining in experimental technique is necessary to increase the sensitivity of the experirentation in future research.
