Abstract
空白試驗求效率提高（Blank test）亦稱均度試驗（Uniformity trial），為研究田間試驗方法之張本。務求效率提高，以助各項試驗之精確。
我國棉作研究工作者中，蕭輔教授曾於民國22年中華農學會報114期中為棉作田間技術之報導。
1. According to Fisher formula, the intraclass correlation value (r) calculated is equal to 0.55. It means that the soil heterogenity of Tainan farm is serious. The normality test shows that the skewness and kurtosis are scarecely significant.
2. The longer shape of plot is considered more efficient than the wider shape of plot in this study.
3. Four-row plot is the most efficient one among the various kinds of plot, as coefficient of variability is concerned. The coefficient of variability for 5-row plot is larger than 4-row plot, since the soil heterogenity for 5-row plot is greatly increased.
4. The number of replication in field trial will be 6 to 16.
