Abstract

(1) The characteristics of seventy-one sweet potato varieties introduced from Kiangsu, Chekiang, Szechuang, Kwangsie, Kwangtung and Fukien provinces and other plances during 1946 to 1943 were observed from September of 1948 to April of 1951. (2) Through the observation in first year, fourty-two out of sixty-seven varieties were selected for successive observation and all but one introduced from Szechuang and Fukien provioces were discarded due to their useless inferior characteristics for cross-breeding.
