Abstract
欲有效提高本省黃麻纖維品質，應參考各項試驗成果，配合實際情況，兼顧產量及成本，作合作徹底之改善，其可能之途徑如次：(一)嚴選品質：以現行推廣黃麻臺農1號及選1號，纖維品質均佳，惟產量後者約比前者高15.5%，並麻株均勻細長，極宜機械採纖，故為目前甚適推廣之理想品種。
In order to improve the quality of jute fiber, studies were conducted during the past few years by the Tainan Fiber Crops Experiment Station. The results are summarized as follows:
1. The average breaking load of retted jute fiber from main growing areas in Taiwan reached 30.93 lbs, while the strongest was 42.44 1bs.
