Abstract
The frequency of the induction of androgenesis in cultured anthers in general is rather low. In order to utilize anther culture in crop breeding programmes, it is essential that the haploids are produced in large numbers. In this communication various factors responsible for enhancing androgenesis in rice are discussed.
