Abstract
The success of a healthy plant material propagation system relies on the availability of feasible pathogen detection techniques. Before 1980s, most pathogen detection techniques such as ELISA, immuno-blotting and immuno-diffusion tests were antibody-based. Howerer, at the end of 1980s DNA-based techniques were recognized as more sensitive than the traditional serological ones.
