Abstract
依80年度（79.4~80.4.）台灣地區的酸雨調查資料顯示台灣地區酸雨的幾項特性，條列如后：
1.酸雨現象已普遍存在，除嘉義（5.51）、墾丁（5.26）及澎湖（5.07）外，其餘7站皆低於5.0，表示台灣地區雨水已受到人為污染。
2.春季滯留鋒雨，冬季鋒面雨為台灣地區較易發生酸雨的兩種降水型態。
3.酸雨分布與土壤酸鹼度分布有關。
4.台灣地區酸雨發生頻率（PH<5.0）約為70%。
5.雨水致酸的物質主要來自硫酸，硝酸其次，前者對雨水酸度的影響約為後者3倍，顯示台灣地區二氧化硫總量的偏高亟須加以削減。
降低油中含硫量，加嚴廢氣排放標準及進行SO2、NOx總量管制為目前台灣地區所採行之策略，然為制訂更詳盡之酸雨防制計畫，有關之酸雨調查評估研究仍必須進行，以利未來決策制定。
Based on 1991 precipitation data from sample stations set by Environmental Protection Administation, the characteristics of acid rain in Taiwan area were summarized as follows:
I. Acid rain problem was common in whole Taiwan area and some regions, except stations such as Chiayi (5.51), Kungtin (5.26), and Penghu (5.07), were quite serious with pH value less than 5.0. It indicated that precipitation in Taiwan area suffered mankind pollution.
2. Two precipitation types, stationary front rain in Spring and front rain in Winter were apt to the occurrence of acid rain.
3. The relationship between the soil pH value and p11 value of acid rain was found. The lower pH value of rain was found in the area of high soil pH value.
4. The frequency for the occurrence of acid rain was about 70%.
5. The average value of sulfate to nitrate ratio of acid rain was about 3 for all stations indicating that SO2 emission must be reduced.
Reduced sulfur content in fuel, rigid emission standard in exhaust gas and planed SO2 and NOx total emission were the control strategies currently adopted in Taiwan area. In order to draft acid rain control program more thoroughly, the study on survey and assessment of acid rain need to be carried out in the near future.
