Abstract
The family of Amarylidaceae contains abundant plant species adaptive to diversified environment and numerous of them are artificially grown as ornamental plants. Taiwan is the native country of many amaryllis plant species such as the well known golden spider lily (Lycoris aurea Herb.). Many species in amaryllis family are considered to have great potential transforming into novel ornamental crops in the future.
