Abstract
Ⅰ. Purpose: The yield and characters of durable varieties will be contrasted with those of undurable varieties of upland cotton. Ⅱ. Material and Method: 1. Five durable varieties are used, the varietal names are as follows: Formosa No. 4; Formosa No. 5; Formosa No. 6; Formosa No. 8; and Buri. These varieties are relatively durable to a kind of Leaf-hopper (Chlorita biguttula Ishida). 2. Five other varieties are used, which are undurble to Leafhopper. 3. The comparative test took place at Chia-I for 3 years. (1948 to 1950). In every year, 5 blocks are used. Each block contains 10 plots. The area of one plot equals one 100th of mow.
