Abstract
1. The centers of gravity of the culms have a tendency to raise from their original positions during the time from maturity to harvest. This tendency, which will cause a bitter natural deflection of the culms, will affect the smooth cuttings of the culms badly by a hand rice cutter.
2. The falling direction of culms which are under cutting will be deeply affected by the speed of the cutting force of a hand rice cutter as well as by the natural deflection of culms.
3. The height between blades of a rice cutter and the ground will affect rice cuttings very badly. When the speed of the cutting force of a hand rice cutter is extremely very low, this ill affection will be increased with the third power of the height; On the contrary, when that speed is extremely very high, that is to say, that cutting force has become an impulsive force adding to the culms, hence, the cutting effect of the rice cutter will be much better.
4. The cutting force of a hand rice cutter will be decreased sharply when the tip angle of the blades of a hand rice cutter is sharply decreased, and vj’ce ver’sa.
5. The cutting force of a hand rice cutter will be also decreased sharply when the angle between these two blades is sharply decreased and vi’ce ver’sa.
