台灣耕地中酸性土壤之分佈很廣,其中三分之一屬於強酸性(PH<5.5)。而山坡地部份,有三分之二亦屬於強酸性。為改良酸性土壤通常以苦土石灰及氧化鎂作為改良資材,以提高土壤中鎂及鈣之含量。對於苦土石灰等改良介質之施用,在果園傳統上均採撒施或溝施;但因鎂鈣等元素在土壤中移動性不佳,採用撒施或溝施無法得到與土壤均勻混合之結果,致無按達到土壤改良之預期效果。但如果將其懸浮液直接注入土壤中,經試驗證實有良好之效果。
The soil of most farm fields in Taiwan is acid. Among the farm fields, about one third of them are categorized as strongly acid soil (Ph value less than 5.5). As to the slope land, about two thirds of it is more acid than that of arable farm fields. The generally applied method to improve this kind of acid soil in Taiwan is to adopt powders of calcium and magnesium oxide. Traditional methods to put Ca and Mg into the soil, especially in the orchard, are powder spreading over the land surface and powder-burying in a number of furrows.
