Abstract:
By constructing separate models for selfings and crossbreds based on their genotypic values, the genetic components analysis of Hayman and the combining ability analysis of Griffing for a diallel crosses were proved to be essentially equivalent and were combined to provide estimates of various genetic parameters of the sampled population from a heterozygous diallel. Difference in estimation of genetic parameters between homozygous diallel and heterozynous diallel were indicated.
