雙交種暗玉米5 種以普通玉米臺南11號為對照，自民國67 年秋作至70 年春作三年間，每年二期作，在臺中、雲林、嘉義三地區進行區域試驗，探討產量及其他主要農藝性狀在不同地區及年份的穩定性。結果摘要如下：
二、穩定性與產量無顯著相關存在。子實產量穩定性高的品系計有暗玉米No. 2 及No. 82 兩種。No. 82 產量低於平均產量甚遠，利用價值不高。對照種臺南11 號產量最高，但不穩定。暗玉米No . 2 雖較臺南11 號減低5.3%，但若同時考慮各農藝性狀之穩定性與產量，卻為六個供試品種中之最理想者。
三、暗玉米No. 10 及No. 82 開花期及吐絲期的穩定性均高。株高及收穫時果穗含水率則以No. 2 及No. 82 穩定性較佳。六個農藝性狀穩定性均差的為N0. 83 , No. 105 及對照種臺南11 號。
五、臺南11號與環境之交感效應大，在較佳環境下具有高產潛力，宜在栽培上注重肥效促其增產。暗玉米No . 2 穩定性較佳，對環境之交感效應小，宜利用密植栽培方法提高單位面積產量，以彌補其缺陷。
Five newly developed opaque-2 double hybrid maize and the check variety Tainan No. 11 of normal maize were grown in replicated regional yield trials at three locations, with two crops per year for a period of 3 years. The stability grain yield and other agronomic characters were studied.
(1) The combined analysis of variance for grain yield, plant height, ear height, days to tasseling, days to silking, and ear moisture content at harvest indicated that the mean squares for entry (or variety), environment, and entry × environment interaction were all highly significant.
(2) There was no well-defined relationship between the average yield performances and the stability statistics of the 6 entries. The opaque-2 hybrids No. 2 and No. 82 had the best grain yield stability over all environments. However, No. 82’s grain yield was much below average. The normal hybrid Tainan No. 11 although had the highest grain yield but was lower in stability. Therefore, No. 2 would be the most acceptable variety, if both grain yield and yield stability were considered.
(3) The opaque-2 hybrids No. 82 & No. 10 had high average stability in days to tasseling and days to silking. However, No. 2 and No. 82 were high in plant height and ear moisture content, respectively. No. 83, No. 105 & Tainan No. 11 were lower in average stability over all 6 characters.
