本試驗目的在探討溫度、pH 、照度等生理因子及氮肥形態、微量元素對HN 501 固氮藍綠藻生長之影響。試驗結果顯示此株固氮藍綠藻生長合適溫度為30℃至35℃ ，低於30℃ 時生長趨勢迅速減小。pH8 時此株藻產量最高，低於pH7 則生長不易，而在pH3 時完全不能生存。照度5,000 Lux 以下時生長緩慢，最適照度為7,000Lux 至9,000Lux 。氮肥以硝酸態氮比銨態氮較容易被此株藻吸收利用，硝酸鹽濃度1 mM 時較適合藻的生長需要，銨鹽濃度為5mM 時便會抑制藻的生長。若不添加氮營養分於培養液中雖然藻還可生存，但是生長情形不好。缺乏硼、錳、鈷、銅、鋅、鉬中任何一種微量元素及鐵，則此株藻完全不能生長，但培養液用自來水配製，不需添加微量元素及鐵，此藻也能繁殖良好。藻生長初期由外界水溶液吸收氮源，固氮活性小，待異型細胞出現頻率較大時，此株藻固氮活性才會激增。
The purpose of the experiment was to investigate the effect of temperature, pH, light intensity on the growth of HN 501 blue green algae. We also studied nitrogen source nitrogen concentration and microelement affecting the growth of the algae.
The results showed that suitable conditions for the algae growing were as the followings: 1. temperature was between 30°C and 35°C 2. pH was above 7.0 and below 9.0 3. light intensity was bounded in 7,000 Lux to 9,000 Lux interval. Nitrate was more accepted by the algae than ammonium. If ammonium concentration was above 5 mM or the solution lacked of one of B. Mn. Mo. Co. Cu. Zn microelement and Fe, the growth of the algae would be inhibited. The doubling time of the algae was 16. 5hr.
During the early growing stage, the algae absorbed more nitrogen quantity than released and the nitrogenase activity of the algae was weak. When more heterocyst frequency appeared, the nitrogenase activity of the algae could rise abruptly.
