A storage experiment was made to study the best temperature for storage seed tubers of No-lin No. 1, potato produced in Taiwan. The tubers were stored under 5°C, 15°C and 25°C for six months. The condition of tubers at the end storage period was recorded plant growth and yield from tubers stored under different temperature were compared, the result were summarized as follows. 2. The condition of the tubers under 5°C was the best, it has the least number of germinated buds and it’s sprout remained small. 3. Tubers stored under 5°C gave the best plant growth two months after planting. 4. Significant difference in yield per unit area was observed between tubers stored under different temperature, tubers stored under 5°C gave the highest yield. 5 It was concluded that 5°C was the best temperature for storage on No-lin No. 1, potato seed tubers produced in Taiwan. |
