Abstract: | The extension on the use and application of rhizobia inoculation of vegetable soybean in Taiwan has been carried on the autumn of 1987 and still extension conducted on Kaoping area so far.The purpose of this project is to guide the farmers to use rhizobia inoculation instead of high rate of chemical fertilizer for cultivation of vegetable soybaen, with reduced rate of nitrogen fertilizer application for the vegetable soybean fields.The result showed that rhizobia inoculation with 20 kg/ha of nitrogen as basal appplication or top dressed at 15 days after sowing(treatment 6 and treatment 5)increased average graded pod yield by 6-12 % more than recommended rate of N-P2O5-K20=60-60-60 kg/ha (treatment 2), and 12-17% more than farmers’practice with the rate of N:P2O5:K2O=102-176 kg/ha: 130-166 kg/ha: 120- 164kg/ha (treatment 1) respectively. But when the farmers’ practice reduced the rate of N:P2O5:K2O=76-1 06 kg/ha: 80-120 kg/ha: 100-115kg/ha, the graded Pod of the treatment 6 only 8% increased more than treatment I on the average of the total 4 crops in 3 years and the Period was from the autumn of 1991 to the spring of 1993. Further analysis varience for graded Pod yield showed that the difference between with rhizobia inoculation and without rhizobia inoculation were significant. The number and weight of root nodule per plant,the treatment 6 by 35.2 %35.4 %more than treatment 2 and by 41.5 %and 54% more than treatment I respectively. Due to the effectiveness of rhizobia inoculation on the use and application of the technology was smooth and successful,farmers investiment on fertilizer cost for the cultivation of vegetable soybean was NT $ /ha at 1989 and gradually reduced to NT $ 4173/ha at spring of 1993. It about decreased the fertilizer application rate and fertilizer cost around 39% Per hectare. The treatment 6 increased the graded Pod yield around 8-17% more than the treatment 1,but reversely the fertilizer cost of treatment I increased around NT $ 2,169-NT 4,875/ha more than the treatment 6. Thereefore, the Profit of treatment 6 increased NT $ 4,338-15,635/ha more than treatment 1.The total area and the Profit of rhizobia inoculation was accumulated 13,532 hectare and NT $140,605,570 from the spring of 1988 to the spring 1993 respectively. |
