水稻品種台農67號(TNG67)的疊氮化納突變庫包含3,000個純化品系,經以台灣本土的稻熱病菌(Magnaporthe oryzae)、白葉枯病菌(Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae)及紋枯病菌(Rhizoctonia solani)菌株接種試驗,發現自感品種誘變所得的突變品系,對病原菌的反應呈現極感(HS)到極抗(HR)的變異,部份極抗的突變品系之抗病性更優於現有的抗性品種,顯示突變庫包含廣大的抗病變異性,可為水稻抗病性之改良提供新的基因型。
The mutant pool of the rice variety Tainung 67 (TNG67) was developed by sodium azide mutagenesis which contains 3,000 pure lines of wide genetic variations on the same genetic background of TNG67. Mutants were inoculated with various isolates of Magnaporthe oryzae, Xanthomonas oryzae pv. orzae or Rhizoctonia solani collected from Taiwan to screen for various responses in order to improve the rice disease resistance. Mutants derived from the highly susceptible variety-TNG67 showed highly susceptible (HS) to highly resistant (HR) reaction to pathogens. Disease resistances in many of our mutants are much higher than the currently resistant varieties suggested that the TNG67 mutant pool may provide broad genetic diversity in identifying marker/gene and improving disease resistance in rice.
