本計畫目的除進一步改進目前推廣品種之缺點,並育成大莢豐產、莢色濃綠、食味佳、結莢位高、抗倒伏、適合機械採收之品種,供冷凍毛豆外銷用,另外選育具有耐冷性、早熟、充實飽滿,適合冬季或早春栽培品種,供鮮莢冷藏外銷用,以提升台灣毛豆產品在國際市場的競爭力。
The purpose of vegetable soybean breeding is to develop new cultivars with large pod, high yield, good quality and high pod site that were suitable for export as frozen or fresh pod process and could adapt the stress in Taiwan. New variety, Kaohsiung No. 8 had been right register by Kaohsiung DARES on March 5, 2004.
