Abstract:
Barnyardgrass [Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) Beauv.] is a common and troublesome weed species found in paddy field in Taiwan (Lin, 1968). After nearly twenty years cultivational practices and changes, however, barnyardgrass is stil listed as a popular weed throughout this island (Chiang et al., 1985; Plant Protection Manual, 1994) and damaging to rice yield (Yang, 1995b).
