Row spacing of 80 cm was emplyed in association with between-plant spacings of 10, 20 and 40 cm (30 cm was also included in 1986). Treatments were imposed at either silking or two weeks after silking by thinning the stand from 10-cm spacing to either 20 or 40-cm spacings in order to determine the response of kernel yield and related characters to changing densities. |
