Abstract: 
本省大蒜地方品種繁多,且有退化現象,尤其發生毒素病,同時有甚多地方品種(系)之性狀很相似,故影響種間之產量及品質。從國外引入之新品種除自秘魯、巴西及印尼引入之品種外,本年期所引入者,似乎無法適應而生產蒜球。
Decrease of yield and quality of local garlic varieties were owing to the depression of plant vigor and occurrence of virus disease. Therefore, purification and selsction of good garlic varieties from the local and introduced varieties is important.
