Abstract:
Under controlled conditions, 13-18°, a large number of small fruit-bodies was formed in the casing layer (Hu, 1956) within a month after spawning. The yielding ability per unit area was largely depending on the amount of these small fruit-bodies. In order to obtain higher yield, care should be exercised during the development stage for the survival of these immature fruiting bodies. A successful bed management could protect the fruit-bodies from the infection of injurious organisms and thereby increase the yield. It was observed that the death rate of small fruit-bodies was surprisingly high; the dead fruit-bodies found in bed were 10 times more than the amount of mature bodies. Thus it is important to know whether the wilted fruitbodies could be revived on the mushroom bed. This report is to present the results of studies on capability of revivification of wilted fruit-bodies.
