|Diseases of Horticultural Crops under Structure and their Control
PROCEEDING OF A SYMPOSIUM ON HORTICULTURAL PRODUCTION UNDER STRUCTURE
Two cultural media, soil and nutritent solution, were the main media under structure. Different diseases occurred between these two cultural media. For example, downy mildew and powdery mildew could be discovered in both media, however, nematode diseases discovered in soil under structure. Tobacco mosaic virus in tomato and bacterial black rot or soft in chinese cabbage also occurred under structure. Tobacco mosaic virus in tomato and bacterial black rot or soft rot in chinese cabbage also occcurred under structure. These showed cultural practice by human or seed borne disease would often transmit pathogens into structure. Disease control was preventing disease causal agents from outside of structure. Seedings of vegetative propagation should treat before transplant into structure. These principles will achieve good protection of horticultural crops under structure.
