The studies reported here-in were carried out from 1972-1975. Four superior varietes of passion fruit were introduced and compared. Their characteristics were also investigated.
1.There are two kinds of passion fruit-purple & yellow varieries. The former of small size, less juice, poor flavor & low productivity. The latter has large sized fruits, more juice, good flavor & high productivity, but need artificial pollination. The fruit setting of the purple variety can be made by natural pollination. For extension, the yellow variety is better than the purple variety.
