當歸Angelica sinensis (Olive.) Diels應用於許多中醫方劑，主治婦人疾患。本研究利用當歸離體未成熟胚所誘導擬胚化癒合組織建立之懸浮細胞，探討MS鹽類、蔗糖濃度、 培養基形態及pH值對懸浮細胞形成體胚及體胚苗之影響。結果顯示，懸浮細胞培養於含有 3%蔗糖、pH值為4.7及5.2之全量或半量MS培養基，形成體胚及體胚苗的數量較多。添加0.3% Difco agar或0.1% gelrite之半固態培養基，均有促進體胚及體胚苗形成的作用。將 此體胚苗繼代培養於含有3%蔗糖之1/2 MS液態培養基，可萌發成為較大的植物體。
Angelica sinensis has been used widely to cure women's peculiar disease in China. Because of its broad pharmacological effects, it has been adopted in a lot of traditional Chinese medicinal prescription. The purpose of this study is to develop a propagation systems for suspension cells induced from immature embryos of Angelica sinensis. The development of plant tissue culture will be vital to the extended utility of Angelica sinensis for pharmacological studies. It was found that, when the suspension cells were cultured on full or half-strength MS salts concentration, supplemented with 3% sucrose and pH value was adjusted to 4.7 and 5.2, they produced more somatic embryos and germinating embryos. Adding 0.3% difco agar or 0.1% gelrite to the medium would help to produce somatic embryos and germinating embryos further more. When the germinating embryos were cultured on 1/2 MS liquid medium supplemented with 3% sucrose, survival plantlets were produced.
