When releasing M. basalis each time, newly hatchied larvae from one thousand eggs, hatch rate ca. 90%, were introduced to each tree in chrysopid releasing plots. M. basalis kept both the densities of the leafminer and the red spider mite at a significant low level (p<0.05) but failed to control the rust mite. Selective acaricides, Fenbutatin-ox-ide and Bromopropylate, at field rate (0.25 a. i./1), controlled rust mites effectively. |
