由於作物區域試驗中通常都列有對照品系，而選拔亦多著重在新育成品系與對照品系間的比較，以從中選出適應性廣而高產的優良品種。因此，Lin and Binn (1985)利用各受試品系與對照品系間兩兩組合之斯對交感均方的估算，來判斷其間對環境的適應能力是否一致；倘若一致，則可直接由兩者間平均產量的差值來評估該受試品系是否優於對照品系。本 研究爲探討該法用以評價品系適應性的可靠性與實用性，以落花生資料作爲實例分析，並與傳統直線迴歸分析法之間作一比較，結果顯示，該法著 重在對照與各受試品系之間的比較，可較少受到直線迴歸分析之前提的限制，且其評價穩定品種的結果與傳統迴歸分析法所獲致者幾無差異；但倘若没有適當的對照品系，或者育種之目的注重交感品系間之比較，該法便不適用。另外，在試驗之前宜利用分群將所有品系予以分組來判斷對照品系是否選擇恰當，當每一組内均含有唯一的對照品系時，才能有效地使用 研對交感分析來評價品系之適應性。
An approach for assessing varietal adaptation in regional trials was proposed by Lin and Binns (1985). The procedure in terms of pairwise genotype-environment (GE) interaction mean squares between the checks and each of test lines because checks are always included in this type of experiment and the test lines are usually evaluated in contrast to the checks. If the test line shows no GE interaction with the check and its average performance is superior, then this line can be recommended for any area where the check is recommended. A set of peanut data from regional trials was used to test its applicability. The assessment of stable lines has been found to have little difference between the use of this method and conventional regression technique. This requires less statistical assumptions. However, if the choice of checks is not regarded as ideal or a breeder’s assessment is based on all comparsions among test lines, its use may not be worth considering. Grouping genotypes by cluster analysis is considered as a useful guide to choice of the checks and should be applied before the use of this method. When every group contains one check only, this method will be sucessfully used to evaluate all types of response characteristics of the test lines.
