Abstract:
A Phytophthora species, causing diseases of citrus spp. and Begonia x semperflorens-cultorum in Taiwan, was originally identified as a variant of Phytophthora cinnamomi in 1985 and 2000, respectively. In this study, based on the morphological and physiological characteristics, as well as ITS rDNA and partial nucleic acid sequence of β-tubulin gene, this pathogen was reidentified as Phytophthora parvispora.
