The Citrus psylla, Diaphorina citri, is a vector of Citrus Likubin in Taiwan. It was reported to be effectively controlled by its nymphal parasitoid, Tamarixia radiate in Reunion Island. Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute introduced the parasitoid from Reunion Island for the control of Citrus psylla in order to reduce the transmission of Citrus Likubin. Sixty four adults of T. radiata obtained from Reunion in 1983-1986 were quarantined, propagated and released to the fields. Results revealed that T. radiate has successfully established in Taiwan. The competition between the introduced T. radiata and the indigenous Diaphorencyrtus diaphorinae, and their relationship to hyperparasitoids were also investigated.
