These may result in the spatial variation of crop yields. Through remote sensing images, spatial distribution of crop growth in the field can be obtained in more efficient manner than traditional human survey. Besides, remote sensing images can provide a more integrate view of the field and are thus more useful in related analysis. In this study, the rice fields for precision management in TARI was taken as an example to illustrate the methods of using remote sensing images to assist identifying and locating the growth limiting soil factors. Preliminary suggestion regarding precision field management practices was also proposed to increase rice yield. The techniques developed this year, in conjunction with techniques for fast determining spatial distribution of soil properties at field scale, constitute the spatial variation detection scheme for soil environment. This is a key technique for precision farming. |
