本試驗係在民。60年第二期作及61年第一期作，以人工接種方法檢定臺中在來1號×H-105和臺中在來1號 × Samba 兩個組合之F1,F2和F3等三個世代對褐飛蝨與黑尾浮塵子之抵抗性。初步試驗結果，顯示水稻品種H-105和Samba對褐飛蝨之抵抗性係由一對隱件遺傳因子所支配；而對黑尾浮塵子之抵抗性則係由一對頭性遺傳因子所控制。惟此兩個品種所具抗蟲1傳因子間之關係則有待進一步之探討。而H-105或Samba其對編飛蝨和黑尾浮塵子兩種害蟲抵抗性之遺傳因子並不相同，且係獨立遺傳。
This experiment was conducted from the second crop of 1971 to the first crop of 1972 at the Chia-yi Agricultural Experiment Station, The reactions of F1, F3 and F3 generations of Taichung (native) 1xH-105, and Taichung (native) 1xSamba were evaluated under artificial inoculation with brown planthopper and green leaf hopper nymphs. H-105 and Samba were resistant to both the brown planthopper and the green leafhopper whereas Taichung (native) 1 was susceptible to these insects.
The preliminary results are summarized as follows:
1. The evidence from F1, F2 and F3 generations of the crosses between resistant parents H-105 and Samba with susceptible parent Taichung (native) 1 fitted the hypothesis that resistance to the brown planthopper in rice varieties H-105 and Samba are conditioned by a single recessive gene.
2. The reactions of F1, F2 plants and F3 farmilies of Taichung (native) 1xH-105 and Taichung (native) 1xSamba to the green leafhopper agreed satisfactorily to the probability for monogenic resistance, indicating that the resistance of H-105 and Samba are controlled by one dominant gene.
3. From the above mentioned data and F2 reactions to the two insects showed that genes for reistance to the brown planthopper and to the green leafhopper in rice varieties H-105 and Samba are independently inherited.
