In order to determine the modifier locus M-Pox-1 of perox idase isozymes, both reciprocal translocation method as well as conventional linkage analysis method of estimating linkage intensities were employed. The results obtained from the experiments are: A linkage relation was discovered between the locus of M-Pox-1 and the chromosome breakpoint (1-5d) of RT line E42, with a recombination value of 8.3%. However, no linkage relation was detected between the locus, M-Pox-1 and the chromosome breakpoints 1-5b (RT E22) 1-5c (RT E23) and 5-6a (RT E43), respectively. Results from conventional linkage analysis method showed that the locus M-Pox-1 and gl-1 found to be linked completely, because there was no recombination between these two loci. However, no linkage relation was observed between the locus of M-Pox-t and the loci of d-7, nl-1，and gh-1，respectively. According to these results, it is concluded that the locus of M-Pox-1 is located on the chromosome 5 with the following order of gene arrangement: (1-5b) - (1-5d) - (gl-1) / (M-Pox-1).
