Climate change due to global warming may be of the greatest threats facing the planet, as we have witnessed increasing temperatures in various regions and increasing extremities of natural disasters in recent years. The potential impacts of global warming on agriculture are in many ways, including crop production, agricultural practices, environmental effects, and ecosystems. This symposium was held on October 6-7, 2009 to discuss effects of climate change on rice production and identify research needs to deal with the inevitable threats of global warming.
