Abstract

當歸、黨參、半夏、金線連、地黃、沙參、貝母、白及、白芷、柴胡、何首烏、草烏、虎杖及桔梗等重要中藥，數千年來早已被國人廣泛的應用於治療民間多種疾病之藥材；雖然上述部份中藥在國內屬原產，但因中藥市場的需求相當大，且經年年大量採摘，目前已有多種瀕臨絕種。本文敘述利用組織培養大量繁殖上述稀有中藥及恆春薯蕷、白芷以癒合組織或懸浮細胞培養生產二次代謝物，以提煉中藥成分之方法，俾有利於國內中藥之開發。 The demand of Chinese medicinal herbs such as Angelica sinensis, Adenophora triphylla, Codonopsis radix, Aconitum formosanum, Bletilla formosana, Angelica dahurica, Fritillaria hupehensis, Rehmannia glutinosa, Platycodon grandiflorum, Polygoni multiflori, Anoectochillus formosanus, Pinellia ternata and Bupleurum falcatum has been increasing continuously in both domestic and foreign markets. These medicinal herbs have been used widely for thousands of years to nourish the vital essence and to release body heat, with special benefit to the blood. Recent research has shown that they also possesses analgesic, sedative, expectorant, hapoglycemic, diuretic and laxative effects. Although these plants are indigenous species to Taiwan, they are endangered species now after prolonged and extensive collection. In view of this, Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute and China Medical College have jointly carried out researches aimed to develop resources of Chinese medicial herbs through the techniques of plant tissue culture. Cell suspension cultures were also established from Angelica dahurica and Dioscorea doryophora. The useful compounds produced from callus or suspension cell were isolated and analyzed. The methods established from tissue culture will be valuable for medicinal industry. This paper summarized the results we have obtained from the above-mentioned herbs in the last ten years.
