本研究之主要目的在探討臺灣本地栽培種檳榔心芋於水田栽培時之全株葉面積的簡易估算方法,利用不同時期以非破壞性取樣所測量之單葉面積資料,尋找出一套精確且迅速之簡易方式來估算全株葉面積。本試驗於1991年秋作在臺灣省農業試驗所試驗田區進行,自移植日起至收穫為止,每隔21天逢機調查10株芋植株,依葉序由外向內測量各不同葉位之葉面積,以建立單葉推測全株葉面積之估算式;繼之再以1992年秋作及1993年春作於同一栽培地點所取得之芋植株逢機樣本,來檢測該估算模式在不同期作下的推測能力。This study was made to develop an accurate, simple and rapid method for estimating total plant leaf area of wetland taro 〔Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott〕 under different growth periods in Taiwan by using nondestructive sampling. The experiment was conducted in the fall crop of 1991 at Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (TARI). A total of 10 plants was randomly sampled at 21-day intervals starting at transplanting and ending at harvest. All the leaves were serially numbered from the outer leaf.
