The lines included two Spanish types, P1 240553 and P1 261946; two Valencia types, NC Acc. 17127 and PI 407454, and two Virginia types, Bolivia 2 and PI 203396. Parents and 15 F1 hybrids were field evaluated to study the combining ability and heterosis for pod and seed traits. Combining ability analysis showed that both general and specific combining abilities (GCA and SCA) were significant for all traits with the exception of the SCA for full-seed ratio, pod width, and seed width. |
