Abstract
Acacia Confusa Merrill grows abundantly everywhere in Formosa, and it is generally only utilized as fuel by Formosians. Its hark contains a large quantity of Tannin which may be used as a tanning agent, but due to the fact that there are many other insoluble and soluble non-Tannin elements containedg in the barks, the amount of Tannin being relatively decreased in order to make the tanning efficiency degenerate, the diffusion slow, and the filling property poor.
