Abstract:
By growing N. tabacurn plants (Wisconsin 38) with different levels of nitrogen in basic Hoagland water solution, it was found that the amount of nitrogen supply can strongly influence the physiological status of the donor plants and thus the embryogenic ability of cultured anthers. Highest embryogenic ability was obtained when donor plants were grown in culture solution containing 15 mM nitrogen.
