甘藷新品種P30,P10及P46之育成及其適應性

Abstract

本省中北部，春植甘藷，大都栽植于看天田或丘陵地，土質較瘠薄，須耐瘠及溫度光照鈍感品種；秋植甘藷，常為水田後作，希望早熟豐產，避免生育後期，長期遭遇冬季陰雨及寒冷。以往本省改良種甘藷，多在南部育成，未盡適合中北部需要，故中北部農家甘藷品種，仍以在來種為主，光復後臺灣省農業試驗所，希望將中北部在來種甘藷性狀，移入臺農各號系統中，並注意增強甘諸品種對縮芽病之抵抗性，而育成適應中北部之改良種，乃舉行臺農種及在來種之雜交，從所得許多優良後代中，經過一再選拔淘汰，及分區試驗，研究其適應性，結果發現新品種P30（臺農47號×鐵線藤）適應性強、早熟、耐瘠、豐產，種值後5個月即可收穫。 During the past time, the improved varieties of sweet potato in Taiwan were always Reared at the Chia-Yi Experimental Branch Station. The varieties so developed such as Tainung No. 3, No. 9, No. 10, No. 17, No. 31, No. 45, etc. have been used as extension varieties, spreading all over the southern part of Taiwan. But they are not very adapted to the northern part of this province. After the restoration of Taiwan to the Chinese Government, the crossbreeding work between old improved and northern native varieties have been carried out at Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, Taipei. expecting to get some new varieties with such good characteristics as higher yield, early ripening and resistance to the main desease “Sphaceloma Batatas” of sweet potato for extension to the northern farmers.
