Abstract
J. Lichtenstein was the first to study Chinese aphids. Later, P. van der Goot, Dr. R. Takahashi, Profs. V. P. Lou, P. W. Tsai, S. Shinji, Shen Tsang, Mr. S. C. Yao, and the writer have studied Chinese aphids and published in English, French, Japanese and Chinese in severel journals. They worked on collecting material and describing species during the past 30 years. Up to now about 300 species have been recorded in China.
I have examined very carefully these species and found some misidentified species that should be corrected. Unfortunately I do not have complete literature of modern generic classification, so that I can not rearrange them as I would like and have to wait for a time.
Now I express my heartfelt thanks to Dr. R. Takahashi who has spent over 20 years in study of both Formosan aphids and those of many provinces of the mainland. He collected much material by himself and specimens were sent to him for identification by Profs. G. P. Jung, H. S. Chang, P. W. Tsai, C. R. Kellogg, W. E. Hoffmann, M. S. Yang, Y. T. Mao and others. All of the specimens are kept in the Entomological Museum of Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute in good condition, it makes the study of both specimens and literature convenient for the writer.
I wish to thank Dr. John T. Creighton, head of Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, University of Florida for permitting to do this Entomology Problem, Dr. A. N. Tissot, head of Department of Entomology, Agricultural Experiment Station, University of Florida for helping me in various ways to finish this revision and Prof.
H. Bruce Boudreaux of Louisiana State University for kindly sending a type specimen of Cinara louisianensis Boudreaux for comparison.
Here I list 54 species of aphids, some of these should have their nomenclature corrected, 32 species are new to the fauna of China, and one of these is new to science as described here.
中外學者之研究中國蚜蟲凡三十年，經發表於中、甲、英、法、德諸雜誌上，已知種數達三百餘。大部標本採自海南島、臺灣、廣東、福建、浙江、江蘇、山東、河北、束北、四川、西康、雲南、廣西諸省。
作者於21年起，致力中國大陸蚜蟲之分類研究，並於24，25年間前來臺灣，求教東方蚜蟲專家高槁良一博士。光復後再次來臺，將臺灣標本與大陸川、康諸省標本，一一加以校對。45年赴美受訓時，曾與美國農部Louis M. Russell女士，Florida大學A. N. Tissot博士，及其他歐、非、澳、亞、美諸洲20多位專家，討論中國蚜蟲之分類。本文之增訂，得以順利完成。
本文所記述之54種蚜蟲中，新種Paratrichosi phum alnifoliae n. sp.為由P. tattakanum Tseng et Tao (nec Takahashi)改訂而來。
