Abstract
In order to realize the possibility of producing grape in winter iu Sonthern Taiwan, and to get some information as the reference for yearround production of grape, we took the variety Kyoho as material for experiment. The vines are pruned at 9 different time between September 5 and November 25 with 10 days interval. Those pruned after October showed lower rates of sprouting owing to the turning of vines into the dormancy- induced stage. During periods of flowering and fruiting they are affected by cold current and seasonal wind, so that the fruits were not welideveloped, the fruits coloured incompletely, and the quality is inferior. Those pruned in September showed higher rates of sprouting. These were not affected by seasonal wind so much that they beared more fruits with good quality. We now suggest that pruning the grape in September is reasonable for the production of grape in winter in Southern Taiwan.
