Abstract
增施氮肥爲促進水稻發育及增產的主要法門，但由於水稻組織及其所含的營養物質，隨增施氮肥而變得更柔嫩而豐富，更有利於病蟲害的繁殖與侵害。本試驗在探究氮肥施用量與褐飛蝨在水稻取食、繁殖及爲害之關係，尤其著重於氮肥對於水稻抵抗褐飛蝨爲害可能發生之影響。
Application of nitrogen to the paddy-field is one of most practical method to increase the yield of rice. However the rice plant treated with nitrogen is usually suffered more infestation by insect or disease pests than untreated one. This experiment is conducted to determine the relationship between the application of nitrogen and the host preference, survival, population build-up and plant damage of brown planthopper on rice plant, with special emphasis upon the possible effect of nitrogen application on the resistant varieties.
