Research and Development of Citrus in Taiwan
Abstract:
Citrus, one of the important subtropical fruits, has more than 40,000 ha of plantation in Taiwan. Due to fewer cultivars, as Ponkan, Tankan, Lieucheng, Matou Wentan and grapefruit, overproduction and marketing issues occurred year after year. In the article, We discussed the reasons and purposes of diversification of citrus cultivar and proposed some measures with a view to relief the overproduction and labor issues for the citrus industry in Taiwan.
