Abstract
本省水稻每年各種災害，所引起的損失頗大，尤其是由病害之損失量更為可觀。因本省地處亞熱帶，高溫多濕，宜於各種植物之種種病原之發育與繁殖，故時而造成病害之蔓延及猖獗。
As Taiwan is located in the tropical and subtropical region, the environment is quite favorable for the development of plant diseases. More than 40 rice diseases had been recorded before 1965 and new ones such as transitory yellowing and stripe diseases with considerable damage on rice production occured later.
