It was found that water exuding capacity for each drizzle maintained persistently 20 cc/minin a irrigation tube within 0-100 meter. Muskmelon cultivated in the field by means of nutrient drip irrigation indicated that the mumber of fruit per plant (3.2 fruit/plant), fruit weight (1.26 Kg/fruit), fruit length (15.1 cm), fruit width (12.5 cm) and sugar content (12.6 Brix) were much better than control one. In case of control treatment, it was 2.8 fruit/plant, 1.05 Kg/fruit, 19.4 cm fruit length, 12.0 cm fruit width and 9.6 Brix to be observed, This result showed that Yamasaki's muskmelon nutrient formula was also favoured for use in muskmelon outdoor culture irrigation. |
